Probably of little interest to you is that I can use the same page template for all of the main galleries. I.e. Painted Portraits, Drawings, Edinburgh Oil Paintings, Personal Stationery, Prints and Schools. This means that any changes made to this template will be seen over all 6 galleries!! I took advantage of this to allow your writings to appear at the left side of the gallery for all 6 today!

Remember how when you checked the site and the about / contact button whatever were in the wrong place? I tampered with the code and there shouldn’t be significant inconsistencies across browsers now. Mozarella Firefox should display it the same as Internet Explorer and what have you. Whatever floats your boat. So the header should remain stable and consistent!

The horizontal menu has been modified to allow for better stacking up, i.e. the buttons were made longer and only contain one line of text each. Since I’m still unsure that this is the best solution, I’ve decided to keep the old navigation menu for reference at this link http://www.peculiarpresents.co.uk/old-top-navigation-menu/

Smaller fixes

The Personal Presents Page Header didn’t function like the rest of the site. It does now.
Reduced the space between the border and text for the about / contact / prices page
Wedding Page created (simple with my new template!) and relevant button added on homepage.
Front page gallery extended to fit in with longer menu.
All galleries (apart from the home page) no longer display captions on roll over.

P.S. You should be able to use the Visual Editor for all the pages except the personal presents one although I think lists are still better created using the
tag in HTML mode.

Tile Images Optimised

I’ve optimised the images in Tiles to take account of colour balance (some of the images were over saturated with red or blue) and colour balance. I’ve also re-orientated them into squares where the picture was taken at an angle. Then I cropped them.

The reason I did all of this before implementing the gallery was to make sure that the gallery looked good! We don’t want tiles appearing next to each other and having different angles / colour balances…etc.

So here’s the before pics followed by the after pics;

Next task is to get this into the tiles page. I want to do something fancy there like I said, so I’m gonna continue to work on the program. So far I’m thinking of a page that can -

Pull the content straight from Slideshow Pro Director

Will add white squares, like ‘white tiles’, to make it look kinda like a tiled wall.

Will allow you to choose what order the ‘white’ and real tiles will appear in.

I’ll get on it!
